Associate Manager, Business Analytics and Insights

Position Summary:

 

The Associate Manager’s role is to be a strategic partner and provider of market information to the commercial team to help meet corporate objectives through identification of value added insights that will help impact strategy and business results. The primary objective of this position is to develop and maintain secondary market research reports, and interpret findings for current and future products. The position will be working with the other Associate Managers, Business Analytics and Insights in other commercial activities such as: primary market research, forecasting, brand planning and ad-hoc requests. This role will work closely with the Business Development (BD) Team contributing to the growth of Purdue’s product portfolio through the identification, analysis and supporting the acquisition of products and technologies across therapy and disease areas of interest.

Responsibilities: 

  • Foster strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Business Development and Financial partners to meet project and corporate objectives as assigned 
  • Assist in primary market research activities for current and pipeline products, including research design, vendor engagement, implementation, analysis and presentation of results 
  • A major portion of this role involves responsibility for assigned secondary research activities (primarily using IMS and internal data) for marketed and pipeline products; this includes significant time devoted to hands-on data extraction, manipulation, analysis, interpretation and presentation 
  • Synthesis and communication of both primary and secondary research findings into actionable insights to positively impact sales and marketing activities 
  • Monitor marketplace and product performance trends; generate scheduled and ad hoc data reports as well as provide business analytics and strategic insights 
  • Develop and maintain confidential data warehouses and reporting systems (e.g. dashboards) 
  • Provide support in ad-hoc market analyses for business development and market access opportunities 
  • Assist in the development of short and long-term sales forecasts 
  • Provide input into marketing plans and development of corporate presentations 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Science
  • Up to 3 years of business analytics and insights experience. Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of and expertise in modern market research methodologies
  • Good teamwork skills, initiative and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong Project Management skills are a key asset
  • Well-developed computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAS or similar computational software an assetExperience with Power BI or other BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik is an asset
